If you would like to arrange a wedding or child baptism then please contact the Parish Office (Tel: 07540 144 016, email: secretary@stmaryschessington.org) to make an initial appointment. Enquiries relating to adult baptism should be made to the vicar (see contact details).

The organist’s fee should be paid separately in agreement with your organist.

At least 6 months prior to wedding date

Contact Parish Office to fill in a Banns application. Pay £100 deposit to St Mary’s, Chessington. (Until your deposit is paid your wedding date cannot be confirmed and may be taken by another couple.)

If applicable, contact church in other place of residency to have banns read there.

If either of you are divorced, you need to make an appointment to see the vicar straight away.

You will be invited to an initial planning & preparation evening at the beginning of the year prior to your wedding.

4 months prior to wedding date

Contact Parish Office to make an appointment to see the vicar within the next few weeks to discuss order of service.

3 months prior to wedding date

See vicar for second meeting.

2 months prior to wedding

Pay final balance.

The month before

Your banns will be read for the first 3 Sundays of the month preceding your wedding, at the 8 o’clock service on the first Sunday of the month and at the 10 o’clock service the following 2 Sundays.

The week before

Wedding rehearsal in the church with wedding party.

Your wedding day

Get married!
